Wiener warns the union: the factory without workers is coming

Norbert Wiener, the creator of cybernetics, writes to Walter Reuther, president of the United Auto Workers union. He warns that automatic machines will lead to "the factory without employees" and that the resulting unemployment "can only be disastrous" within 10 to 20 years.
