The first death caused by a robot
Robert Williams, a Ford worker in Michigan, is killed when a one-ton robotic vehicle strikes him in an automated warehouse. He had climbed up to get parts by hand because the system showed the wrong inventory. His family is awarded $10 million in court, later raised to $15 million.
