Moravec's paradox
In "Mind Children," Hans Moravec observes that it is easy to make a computer play checkers like an adult and almost impossible to give it the perception and mobility of a one-year-old. Decades later, the order held true: AI reached office work first, and robots are only now catching up with manual work.
